Cultivate Abundance by Joining the PFTP Board

It’s time for us to expand our Board of Directors!

PFTP is thrilled to be adding 4-6 new members to our board of directors. This dedicated group of volunteers meets once monthly, alternating between in-person and online meetings, and spends less than 10 hours per month on other projects (each member decides what capacity they have for projects as they arise). Please follow this LINK to fill out our interest form.

Whether this will be your first board experience, or if you’ve spent a lifetime in the non-profit space, we’d love to hear from you. Our only ask is for you to be passionate about the vision of Portland Fruit Tree Project—We envision joyful communities that see every fruit tree as an abundant resource which contributes to a just food system and enhances the well-being of people, community networks, habitat, and our changing climate.

We welcome everyone with any skill set they would like to offer, and would especially like to hear from you if you have:

  • Accounting skills and/or are interested in serving as our treasurer

  • Marketing and outreach experience

  • Experience advancing racial equity in the community

  • Deep connections to Portland and knowledge of Portland history

  • Development and fundraising skills, or experience cultivating financial sustainability

  • A background with nonprofit governance

  • Connections to people and organizations working in the areas of urban agriculture, urban forestry, workforce development, community resilience, or food justice

That said, if you have some other ability you would like to contribute to the board, or want to develop any of the areas we’ve highlighted, please follow the above link to fill out our interest form, and we will follow up with you soon.
