Portland Service Opportunities this Winter
Looking for ways to stay involved with service this winter? Since harvest season is on hold, we wanted to highlight some organizations around Portland doing amazing things for our environment and for food justice.
At PFTP’s last virtual happy hour we heard from Jenny Bedell-Stiles, the volunteer and outreach manager at Friends of Trees. Friends of Trees focuses on planting trees around Portland. If you are looking for service opportunities, check out their events calendar.
We heard from Helen Vank, the Program Quality Coordinator at Metropolitan Family Service. They have various food pantries that serve around 200 families at each site. See about the sites and hours here. To get involved, email Anna at annam@mfs.email with which site/shift you are interested in. Watch a video about their mission for hunger relief.
Thanks for being a part of the Portland Fruit Tree Project Community. Here’s to a wonderful winter!
