The Volunteer and Outreach VISTA will help with formalizing, documenting, and growing the current volunteer and outreach programming to increase organizational capacity to grow, harvest, and share amazing fruit in the Portland Metro area. As a part of this plan, the AmeriCorps member will analyze existing systems and processes, develop a strategic plan to improve recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers, and design an evaluation plan for measuring the success.

The AmeriCorps member will also create outreach materials, calendars, and plans to increase awareness of programming. The member will do a fair amount of computer work, drive a van, truck, and/or cargo bike, lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, bend/stretch in all manner of ways, and receive hands-on training.
