Welcome to Team PFTP, Tara and Kenja!
We are so excited to share the news that we have officially hired for our two seasonal roles and get to introduce you to our newest teammates.
From Tara (she/her):
Tara has been passionate about food justice and community development for several years. She just recently moved here from the Midwest where she managed a farmers market, and started a nonprofit that worked to alleviate food insecurity in her community. She's excited to explore the Pacific Northwest with her family!
From Kenja (she/her):
I am a Community Development Major with a Minor in Sustainable Urban Development. I decided Portland Fruit Tree Project was a good fit for me, not only because the staff is amazing and supportive, but the organization's mission and purpose align with my own personal values. I am looking forward to creating new networks from my lens of compassion, inclusion, and connection. With this experience I hope to support local communities, as well as build on my personal skills as Outreach Coordinator.
Note from Heather: Kenja is also a former PFTP intern and you likely saw her social media posts on food justice. We are very excited to welcome her back in a new capacity.
The caliber of applicants was incredible and we’re so honored to have had so many people interested in these roles. Thanks to all who shared our posts, applied, or otherwise helped us get here.
