Meet Rebeca Marquez of Familias en Accion

Rebeca came to Portland five years ago from Xalapa, Veracruz, where she studied Nutrition and specialized in Pediatric Nutrition.

In her role at Familias en Accion, she has been able to manage and implement the Abuela, Mama y Yo Nutrition and Food Equity program in the State of Oregon, supervise Community Classes, address issues and continue building a movement of leaders in Oregon.

Familias en Acción’s mission is to strengthen the holistic health and well-being of Latino families and communities in Oregon.

Through their Nutrition and Food Equity Programs they share a community program and curriculum to build Latino Community knowledge and advocacy skills about food justice, social determinants of health, and family health.

The goal is to reduce the impact of food and health inequities and to build communities that raise strong children who become healthy adults.

PFTP is thrilled to contribute fruit and other resources that we are able to, to support this critical mission.
