Portland Fruit Tree Project is seeking exceptional leaders to join our Board of Directors.
Portland Fruit Tree Project is an award-winning nonprofit organization that provides a community-based solution to a critical and growing need: Access to healthful food. Through our four unique programs, PFTP provides direct services that improve quality of life for people in Portland.
Board members are responsible for governing the organization. Key responsibilities include fundraising, strategic planning, financial oversight, organizational development, and community relations. Board members will play a critical role in determining goals and strategies for the organization and its programs.
We are seeking individuals who are deeply committed to the mission of Portland Fruit Tree Project. Individuals with experience in nonprofit board service, fundraising, public health, hunger relief / food security, and applicants with ties to the business community, philanthropy, low income communities, communities of color, and communities in outer East Portland are especially encouraged to apply.
- Attend monthly board meetings (currently the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 6-8pm subject to change to accommodate incoming members’ schedules)
- Participate on a board committee
- Support the organization financially in any meaningful and comfortable amount
- Board term is two years
- This is a volunteer position averaging 6 – 8 hours per month on board related work
