Green Thumb Community Orchard
Owned by Portland Parks and Recreation, and co-operatively managed by Portland Community Gardens and the Portland Fruit Tree Project, the Green Thumb Orchard is a historic orchard that hosts a great deal of activities. PFTP's tree care team maintains the orchard's trees, and the fruit is harvested through our harvesting programs. The Green Thumb Orchard is adjacent to Brentwood Community Garden on SE 57th Avenue and Cooper Street, and lies within the same site as the Learning Gardens Laboratory.

Join or Lead a Tree Care Team in 2015!
Our Tree Care Teams are small groups of volunteers that care for fruit trees registered and harvested by PFTP. Tree Care Teams help in increasing the health and abundance of urban fruit trees, while developing skills in organic tree care methods. Each Tree Care Team is lead by one or two ‘Team Leaders’ with experience and skills in organic fruit tree care, who teach and guide the group.
